Why bother when there are products that can do the work for you?
Well, that's a good question. I watched so many people from age 8 to 80 years old building a web site and I realized that:
- You have to spend a long time just to know the software,
- The process of getting started is too long and many abandoned it before complete their first web page,
- There are products for free, but after a while you notice that:
- Free is only 21 days or so,
- Some basic properties are not included in the free version you are using,
- Much effort and time involved formatting text and playing with colors. There is nothing wrong playing with colors, but playing with colors comes after you build a web site. Playing with colors by itself is not a web site building,
- Using Microsoft Word to create a web site is NOT recommended! Microsoft Word is NOT for creating web documents, it's for writing letters,
- The software products can create a web site like Amazon, but you want to create a web site with several web pages. It's like using a truck trailer to do shopping. Sure you can use it, but don't you prefer using your private car?
- These products can create a web site like Amazon, so a good planning is needed that takes a lot of time & effort. Well, planning is good, but how much time & effort are you willing to put if you just want a web site with several pages?
