Create a web site

What Is The Next Step Building A Web Site?

If you have progressed to this chapter then you have already built a personal Web site. It's true that it is Justin's site, but it is still a personal Web site. I am sure that you have some creative ideas on what to do with this personal site, as well as creative ideas for making your own Web site.

My advise is:

  1. Do not touch Justin's personal Web site.
  2. Build your own site about any subject you choose in a separate folder.

You can use Justin's personal site as the basis for building another site about any subject. You can always go back and see how any one of the stages was done (according to the instructions in the book) and how it looks in reality (when you activate the Web pages). However, if you change anything in Justin's personal Web site you will lose the connection between the instructions in the book and the completed site, and it will be difficult for you to refer to the book for help later on.

To build your own Web site on any subject of youe choice: LA Dodgers, flowers, your dog…, open a new folder. You can use the pages you already built in Justin's Web site to help you. Just copy some of the files - or all of them if you prefer - from the justin folder to the new folder that you just opened. You can find more details in Chapter 11.

But for now, the time has come to put the Justin Web site on the Internet. It's true that this is not the site that you really want to put on the Internet, but for the sake of practice and experience it is a good idea to do this first with Justin's site.
